FINDING FREIGHT

The most common complaint from brokers and or carriers, is "how do I find freight? One of the best resources I have found is a web site called " clickloads.com.

This site promotes a master shipper database CD at a price of $499, which is special rate. What makes this package so valuable is the fact that the program supplies names, addresses, names of transportation buyers and phone numbers to call for freight. The price includes a lifetime membership. The web site is: http://www.clickloads.com/.

There is a free web site that does give the names and addresses of shippers, but does not give specific information. This web site is: http://www.thomasnet.com/.

UNIFORM CARRIER REGISTRATION (UCR)

The long awaited program that will replace the Single State Registration (SSRS) has finally been approved by the Congress and will go into effect November 15, 2007.

The new program will be entilted "UNIFORM CARRIER REGISTRATION, or will be known as the UCR Program.

This new program will include motor carriers, brokers and freight forwarders. The fee structure will be one fee for brokers and freight forwarders. We will email this fee structure to anyone who request it fax or email.
